Veterinary Nurse Careers (VNC) was created by a Veterinary Nurse for Veterinary Nurses.
Our Values:
▶️ Longevity within the RVN profession & veterinary industry
▶️ Affordable recruitment solutions with staff retention
▶️ Promotion of realistic, liveable wages for RVNs
VNC was created after years of reading stories of Nurses feeling stuck, undervalued, and unsure of which direction to take their careers.
It came from multiple concerns from practice owners regarding recruitment issues and the high expense that comes with it.
The goal of Veterinary Nurse Careers is to provide a platform that gives Vet Nurses an unbiased view of their options within the industry – helping them to decide which direction they want their career to take.
Our other goal is to provide an affordable recruitment solution for Veterinary companies looking for their next staff member.
VNC does not believe recruitment should be about the expense, it should be effective – recruiting a new permanent member of staff should not be about quickly filling a gap, it should be about finding the correct match in order to create staff retention as well a content team.
Finally, we wanted to do our bit to support the mental health of Veterinary Professionals.
So what will you find on Veterinary Nurse Careers?
First and foremost, we are a job site – but we like to think we are doing things a bit differently.
For Employers
Firstly, we have a set fee of just £59 to post a job vacancy (permanent or locum) and there are absolutely no hidden fees. This fee puts your job vacancy in front of Veterinary Nurses actively looking for the next step in their career – not only on this website but also on our social media channels as well as optimisation for Google jobs.
The way we have designed our job forms encourages you to develop a job advert which appeals to candidates who are correct for your vacancy. We ask you to show offer what your company offers (for both staff and for patients/clients) and what your company values are.
We also strongly advise you to display a salary range. After all, Nurses can not live off free cake and biscuits – no matter how great they are!
Wait, it gets better – £3 from every vacancy you post goes directly to a Veterinary Mental Health Charity. So you do not just have an affordable recruitment solution, you are giving back to our industry at a time when it is needed most.
For Nurses
Our job board gives you the opportunity to scan current vacancies at your own pace and apply of your own accord.
We are not a recruitment agency.
You apply yourself to the jobs that appeal to you, after being provided with as much information as possible regarding the position.
What we will aim to do for you is promote a living wage for Veterinary Nurses as well as promote the value of the Veterinary Nurse.
We are professionals with a wide range of skills, we bring huge value to this industry and we want this to be recognised more.
Alongside the job board, we will also share the latest veterinary industry news as well as discussions with RVNs who have taken their career in different directions – from animal physiotherapists, clinical educators, business owners, specialist nursing roles to human nursing. This can all be found on the blog.
If you are feeling ‘stuck’ within your current job, we hope to display and give you information on how you can take the next step and use transferrable skills.
